I just have one thing to say...
...and I'll make it clear.
When all this @%$# crankiness and crying stops in a few days (and it WILL stop, because you are supposed to be my easy child), you had better have some teeth to show for it.

LOL Andrea!! That is too funny! My oldes, my difficult child, just had teeth appear. No problems. I thought, whats with all these parents thinking teething is a big deal?
LMAO!! My easy one....Oye. Teething was hell on earth. I thought it would never end. But it did, and then there was a tooth. All white and pearly. It ends. I promise.
Orajel gel (nighttime formula - and who cares if it's morning?) is my best friend.
lawbrat and melody, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. My older daughter (the otherwise high-maintenance one) teethed so easily we almost weren't sure that was happening, except for the increase in drool. And it was very gradual, took months for the first one to show up after the onset of drooling. With this one (the otherwise "easy" child), we've got lots of unprecedented night-waking, snotty nose, occasional low-grade fever, cranky attitude...you name it, we've got it. That's why I'm hoping the gradual part will be different too!
mrtl...Orajel comes in a nighttime formula??? Oh, very tempting...I've been giving her infant Tylenol when it gets really bad. Some nights (and days) are better than others.
I don't know what's easy anymore... I thought my first was really tough...then I had NUMBER TWO or el diablo...as he's fondly referred to.
As they get older they flip flop who is easier.
It's all tough and teething is miserable. The drool, the snot, the chaffing, the crankiness, the colds/infections...
I used camilia drops from the natural foods store. I think its homeopathic. He'd drink this wee vial down and babang! all better. I loved those things.
I haven't tried drops, but I have tried the homeopathic teething tablets; they didn't do a thing. I have actually tried the Orajel already; she *hates* it. I can see how she might; I know it feels a little odd when they use similar stuff on me at the dentist. Infant Tylenol seems to help only a little, and it takes a while to work. I may look for those drops. She is really miserable a lot of the time :(
