I am going to shave that daggone cat bald

Just the black one.

Before (9:03 a.m.):

Close-up of before with board book shown for scale (9:04 a.m.):

After sweeping with the Bissel(9:08 a.m.):

After-after (5:17 p.m.):

And while I'm at it, I'm going to declaw the gray one in back too (her front is already done) because she is the one that digs these chunks out of him when they fight.

(No, I'm not really going to declaw her back feet, hold your flames...no promises about shaving Linus though!)

Cleaning hair and litterbox, and wiping noses and changing diapers, was much more work than I wanted to do in the same day.
That's a big reason why I said NO to a pet until the last son was off to Kindergarten.
We got our first cat the summer before, and I do have the cutest picture of son and kitty on the first day of school.

My parents have a part-Persian cat and they do get her shaved twice a year. And honestly, I think she loves it. The fur just drags her down...

rather than a cruel shaving, may I suggest wrapping the creatures in saran wrap (leaving their heads out of course) so that they have their own little plastic bags to shed into. Actually, the Glad "Press 'n' Seal" would be better because it sticks to itself better. What a great plan to save your carpets!!!

Thankfully, my cat has recently stopped shedding so much. Of course, that doesn't stop me from periodically finding kitty hair where I really don't want it. Like my dinner plate.
