Accomplished

Today I:
  • Took a shower
  • Washed my hair
  • Flossed my teeth!
  • Folded laundry (never mind that it's all still sitting on the sofa)
  • Got Aislinn to eat breakfast AND lunch
  • Watched Ellen

Last night, we slept. Not without a little waking, but I think I did get the four hours I was hoping for. No puking, no middle-of-the-night shower saunas. And this morning, no fever. She's still a little cranky at times, but cut her some slack: she's still wheezing, sneezing, and coughing. But life is starting to resemble normal again.

Wow, flossed? I can't even manage that on a slow, boring day. My self-motivation is rubbish.

TJB, a year ago I would have been the same way. When my dentist visits had to increase to 3 times a year instead of four (and since we are paying for those out of pocket), I started working on the habit. The secret was finding a brand I liked: when I started using Glide, I realized one of my flossing aversions was the way the floss cut into my fingers. Glide is much gentler.

congrats! it was an actual day, then, instead of a sick one. Glad the little bug is getting better.

No middle of the night sauna is a definite step towards Better.
After carrying the babies, my teeth seemed to want to just become little piles of ouchies. All that milk and vitamins coming in while I was pregnant didn't faze the 9 months toll on my body.
I also like GLIDE floss. As its name suggests, it glides between my crowns and doesn't get caught on the careful work I paid the dentist to do.
And I have to go 3 times a year for check-ups. Age-related, mostly. My mother had full dentures at age 32, but I've made it many years past that and still have many more to go.
