Dreams
I have certain recurring dreams.
If I have to pee while I'm sleeping (I had these a lot when I was pregnant), I dream that I can't find a restroom. I'm always in public, and I can't find a good place to pee. When I finally find a restroom, there's always something wrong: wrong gender, long line, filthy toilets...you get the picture.
When I'm feeling unprepared for something, or maybe inadequate, I have dreams about school. I dream it's the first day of school and I can't find my classroom. Or it's halfway through the semester and I realize I've never been to one particular class on my schedule, and as the semester goes on, I can't seem to remember to go to the class (probably because I HAVEN'T BEEN GOING ALL SEMESTER). Or, my worst nightmare dream, I'm going to take final exams, and I'm completely unprepared. Or I wake up (in the dream) and realize I am LATE for the final exam.
Once, recently, I had my final exam dream...and I ACED it, for once! What does that mean??
I'd love to hear everyone else's recurring dreams, nightmare or no, that you are willing to share (keep it clean, please ;) )

It's my duty to tell the meanings of the dreams. Just ask Anne.
Pee, restroom... hmm, did you go before bed? (I always dream the toilet is on a platform, in public, and I'm on my period. How's that for TMI???) You're afraid of being unprepared. Which leads to the school dreams. And feeling unprepared. Guess you answered that one, didn't you? And when you aced it, that was your subconcious telling you that you're gonna be all right. You're prepared for life after all.
My recurring dream is about losing my teeth. (Except for the toilet one, and the school one, which is the same as yours, except that often a locker whose combination and/or location I don't know, but that's where all my stuff is, is thrown in for good measure.)But the teeth-losing one is the worst. Bloggers, what does that mean?
My recurring one is that I'm bitten by a snake. I hate snakes.
I am walking on a beach and can hear the waves, but never actually feel the water. Someone much taller than I am (I'm only 5'3") is walking along with me, and not my husband nor one of my sons.
When I tilt my head to look up at the face it's all blurry.
Sometimes this dream comes a couple times a month, then it skips six months.
When I wake up, I'm all agitated that I don't know the guy, yet we seem fine together.
I haven't had it since I've been taking Algebra classes. Hmmmmm.
I used to dreamn all the time (almost every night) that everything I was doing I was doing in front of people. For instance, I would dream that I was sleeping, but that my bed was in the middle of the field by my Jr. High School. Or I would dream that I was taking a bath and that the tub was in my living room. Or I would dream that I had 50 people crammed into the dressing room with me...
oddly enough, the people in my dreams didn't really seem to care I was doing these things.. they were just there.
This reminds me of the scene in THUNDERHEART when the Native American sheriff tells Val Kilmer "Running with the Old Ones. You had yerself a Vision".
Now I'm gonna have to pull that video off the shelf and cry into some hankies.
I have many recurring dreams....but their too long and detailed to put here. The worst are nightmares where you wake up feeling anxious and scared.
It involves Ryan Seacrest...and I don't want to talk about it during my waking hours.
It's a nightmare. I don't even think Ryan Seacrest is good looking.
Jur, I never normally have to pee in the middle of the night; only when I'm pregnant, mostly. And then it makes no difference if I haven't had anything to drink all evening and pee right before I go to bed. I think you may have told me about your teeth dreams before. But I have no idea what it means!
Kristine...RYAN SEACREST!!??? Yikes!!! That's hilarious (does Shaun know? ;) )
i have always heard that dreaming of your teeth falling out means that you are afraid of some sort of death around you (and not nescasarly in the literal sense)
I have the same ones as you plus the teeth falling out AND I always dream that my children have been left someplace and I am desperately trying to get there to pick them up. Oh, and occasionally I dream about my deceased hubby and ALWAYS I am trying to talk to him and I CAN'T because I cannot get to him across the crowded room or something like that. All very frustrating dreams and I am sure they are all stress related.
