Every day
Aislinn's favorite word (or pair of words, actually) is "every day" (though she pronounces it "ew'ry"). We started hearing her saying it to herself while looking at her board books, but it took us a little while to realize that it comes from a particular book (which we've decided is her favorite), Everywhere Babies. Every page says "Every day, everywhere, babies (are born, are dressed, make friends, etc.). Sometimes she shows she is thinking about this book in particular because she will say "Ew'ry day, BABIES!", but aside from that, we think she really understands how to use this word. Some examples:
When I'm teaching her to say grace at lunchtime
Me: God is great...
Her: Go' is g'eat...
Me: God is good...
Her: (babbles for a paragraph or two), ew'ry day, Amen!
(No, she doesn't let me get the rest of the prayer in.)
Friday morning at breakfast
Leo: Man, this kid somehow knows to get up at the same time every day, even if it's a day to sleep in.
Her: (smiling at me) Ew'ry day!
This morning, as Leo was washing her face when she woke up, as he does, yes, every day
Her: (frowning and making a face, almost dejectedly)Ew'ry day.
