9/11
I spent part of the morning watching the Today show's coverage of the memorial services and commentary. Strangely enough, the images of that day don't bother me as much as seeing images of the towers intact. The images that affect me the least are the aftermath, the rubble. Maybe it's because those are the reality (or were before it was all cleared away). I don't mean I actively seek out those images, just that they bother me less.
I can't remember if I mentioned (I think I did) that a room in the basement of our new house has a tacky skyline wallpaper view of the World Trade Center. It will be painted over at some point. It's too much like a ghost whenever I see it.

Seeing photos of the towers intact gives me a deep feeling of sadness.
